Community Action Program for Children

The Community Action Program for Children (CAPC) is federally funded by the Public Health Agency of Canada. CAPC programs serve families/caregivers with children from birth to 6 years of age in Cranbrook + Kimberley.

CAPC was created in 1993 in response to Canada’s agreement to invest in the well being of children, made at the United Nations World Summit for Children in 1990.

Provides information, resources and support for families who have a child between birth and 3 years of age who:  has a diagnosed disability; or is experiencing a developmental delay; or is at risk for developmental delay.

The program provides service to the communities of Radium, Invermere, Kimberley, Cranbrook, Fernie, Sparwood, Elkford and the surrounding rural areas.
